Description

The Invergordon Distillery is situated overlooking the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Oddly enough, it is the only Scottish grain distillery outside the Scottish Lowlands. A whisky made mainly from wheat or corn, has a real sweetness, especially if it has been matured in good American oak. The Invergordon spent 25 years in a Single ex bourbon American oak barrel and presents those typically light aromas of vanilla cream, salted butter, brioche, a hint of coconut and white chocolate wafer. Soft on the finish and with a hint of warming spices. What began as an idea during the lockdown in the United Kingdom has become reality. Founder Keith Bonnington thought to himself: what if we could create the sweetest whiskies imaginable to celebrate the physical reunion of friends. The kind of whiskies that everyone enjoys. The kind where you pop the cork and never see it again. With sunbeams, Highland brooks, winding their way to the distant mountains, rainbows, a hot-air balloon, and the hope of better times ahead. Because who doesn't enjoy the sight of a hot air balloon with a good glass of whisky in its hand? Slàinte!

Highlands: Clans, Schafe, Whiskys

Scotland – Wild history, warming whisky

Whiskey, bagpipes, kilts – These are the most famous elements of Scottish culture. It has not been conclusively determined who invented whisky. The Scots and Irish both argue that they invented the “water of life.” Food and drink definitely tops the Scottish export categories. Every second, around 40 bottles of whisky are purchased. So it’s hardly surprising that whisky makes up around 80 percent of total food and drink exports.
