Strathisla Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 10 years 2012
Speyside, The Whisky Cellar, 750 ml
Producer: | The Whisky Cellar |
Origin: | United Kingdom / Highland-Speyside |
Description
Strathisla is considered the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland and is as idyllic and beautiful as on a postcard. The name is derived from the River Isla, which flows close to the distillery. For independent "whisky bottler" Keith Bonnington of The Whisky Cellar, this is the first bottling from this distillery, as it is very difficult to obtain a cask. Matured in a first fill ex-bourbon cask, distillery character and American oak character meet in perfect harmony. Notes of shortbread, vanilla, fresh green apples and a hint of citrus flow into the nose. On the palate, these flavours are repeated accompanied by cherries, white chocolate, tarte tatin and delicate icing sugar. The finish shows the great balancing act between seductive sweetness and gentle spiciness.

Highland-Speyside
