Description

The harbour town of Scalasaig, which gives the whisky its name, is located on the island of Colonsay. The Scalasaig "Island Hopper" Tobermory Edition was composed from four casks of a whisky distilled in 2013 from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. The casks were blended together and then filled into sherry hogsheads, where they received their finish. The nose shows aromas of dried apricots, salty nuts and a hint of spices. On the palate, it is complex and tastes of ripe yellow stone fruits, some spicy ginger, chilli nuts and yellow sultanas. Spicy, maritime notes accompany the long finish, which ends in a fresh and at the same time easy-going sweetness.
