Domaine Marcel Couturier attaches great importance to sustainability and is committed to protecting the environment. The 11 hectares of Chardonnay vineyards in multiple appellations such as Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Loché, Mâcon-Vinzelles and Mâcon Blanc are meticulously cultivated and all grapes are harvested by hand to guarantee the highest quality. The Domaine works closely with local farmers and organic growers to ensure that all practices are sustainable and environmentally responsible. In the cellar, all wines are fermented and aged in oak barrels sourced exclusively from French forests. Couturier relies on wild native yeasts to maintain the aromatic purity of the fruit and complexity of the wines. The wines are certified organic and the winery has been as well certified biodynamic since 2022.
A peculiarity of the winery is its location within a fault zone, meaning different soil types exist close to one another within a small area. Some vineyards are planted on sandstone and schist soils, which produce wines with floral aromas and pronounced fruit, fresh and cheerful wines for early drinking, such as the Mâcon “Aux Scellés”. But they also have old vineyards planted on limestone and clay soils, which produce structured wines suitable for aging, such as the Pouilly-Loché "Le Bourg".
The wines of Domaine Marcel Couturier offer a perfect synthesis of terroir, tradition and modern technology, they are appreciated by connoisseurs and wine lovers worldwide.
Producer
Château Biac
Sometimes life is full of surprises. The Lebanese Asseily family experienced this first-hand when they became the owners of Château Biac as if by accident in 2006. They regularly spent their summer holidays near Biac, but never would they have dreamt that they would own and manage this wonderful property themselves one day. It’s a fascinating story that Tony and Youmna Asseily are happy to share over a glass of their wine.
Domaine Tollot-Beaut / Nathalie Tollot
This fine family domaine has existed since the end of the 19th century. Initially, there were only a few vineyards in the village of Chorey. As time went on, it developed into 24 hectares in the communes of Beaune, Savigny and Aloxe-Corton. The estate is now run by cousins Nathalie, Jean-Paul, and Olivier Tollot.
Viñedos Terranoble
Soon after their arrival, the first Spanish colonists were already remarking the ideal vine growing conditions in Chile. In this country of great contrasts, embedded between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, the many wine regions differ significantly through micro-climate, topography and altitudes, and geological properties. TerraNoble owns vineyards in three different regions and so can provide different varieties with the most suitable growing conditions.
