This 13-year-old Glenrothes from The Whisky Cellar's Private Cellars Selection was finished in Oloroso sherry casks – and develops an impressive aromatic complexity as a result. The nose reveals notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg. Full-bodied on the palate, with chocolate mint and orange peel. The finish is long, with peppery warmth and a hint of sherry and spices. A whisky for enjoyable evenings and special conversations – or simply when you want something extraordinary in your glass.

Bonnington, who lives in the heart of Edinburgh, can look back on a career in whisky spanning almost two decades. For over 10 years he was responsible at Edrington for brands such as the Macallan and Highland Park.
