Cidre Engishofer 2023
Cidre Engishofer 2023
Stehrenberg Thurgau, Cidrerie A. Heftig, 750 ml
Description
Pure character
The Engishofer apple – full of juicy acidity and tannins - comes from over 80-year-old, unsprayed high-stem trees in Stehrenberg (Thurgau). Spontaneously fermented and pressed using the Ancestrale method - without any additives or sulphur.
Ripe apple and fine yeasty notes on the nose – reminiscent of tarte tatin. Juicy on the palate, pleasantly dry with a nice balance between acidity and fruit sweetness.
A cider with depth – ideal with spicy dishes, strong cheese, game or simply when you want more than «just sparkling apple wine».

Switzerland
Switzerland – A small country with enormous diversity
Switzerland is famous for its banks, watches, and cheese, but not necessarily for its wine. The Swiss didn't invent wine, but they have been extremely open and curious to it. Wine culture arrived in what is now modern Switzerland via several routes: from Marseilles to Lake Geneva and the Lower Valais region; from the Aosta Valley through the Great St. Bernard Pass to the rest of Valais; from the Rhone through Burgundy, across the Jura Mountains to Lake Constance; and from Lombardy to Ticino, and then on to Grisons.
